Balaclava – kitchen, bathroom & ensuite

Our clients wanted to transform their small Balaclava townhouse into something, ‘fun, contemporary and monochromatic’. With space being their biggest issue, our designer had to ensure they styled to scale and incorporated more storage throughout the home.

The kitchen sticks to a striking monochromatic theme, with black cabinetry that has anti-fingerprint technology, giving the space a sleek, sophisticated looks that’s easy to clean. The clients specifically needed the kitchen to look great as they were due to have their wedding ceremony adjacent to the dining area! For the kitchen this meant taking out the existing full-length window and replacing it with a Louvre window, allowing the designer to increase bench space. The benchtop features a super durable porcelain material, perfect for food preparation.

We increased the main bathroom size by taking additional space from the spare bedroom. This allowed the designer to create a beautiful bespoke double vanity and incorporate a large luxe shower. Penny round tiling was a consistent element throughout the main bathroom and ensuite, with complementary mirrors to tie back to this theme. Inserting detail throughout the home was achieved through the inclusion of different shapes and textures, always tying back to a monochromatic palette.
