Middle Park Bathroom Renovation 3

This Middle Park bathroom renovation transformed our client’s property into their dream home. For a total transformation of their living space, they also completely renovated the home’s kitchen.

To meet their functional and aesthetic needs, the owners of this architecturally designed house decided to undergo a total transformation of the property’s three bathrooms. Our interior designer worked closely with the homeowners to create a bathroom that would be functional, stylish and easy to clean.

The original bathroom featured a dated style with unappealing tiles, a cumbersome corner spa bath, which they never used, and a cramped angled shower. The vanity was also small and lacked storage.

Our client’s brief for this ensuite renovation was to create a bathroom that was practical for everyday use yet luxurious enough to provide an escape from the demands of modern life. The client’s top requests were to remove the bath and install a larger vanity. Due to its angled shape and location, the room presented a challenge.

Because the bathroom is located on the home’s first floor, we decided not to relocate the toilet. Instead, we removed the unwanted bathtub and shifted the vanity to that wall, making room for a larger vanity to meet our client’s storage needs. We carried over the marble from the kitchen to the vanity top to create a cohesive style. In addition, we created a spacious walk-in shower with a nib wall for extra storage.

The floor-to-ceiling tiling offers a luxurious finish, while the vanity unit featuring a natural marble top becomes a focal point in the room. It took an incredible eye for detail from the tilers to work with the handmade 370 x 60mm wall tiles. With the tiles varying in length and width, most of the lay had to be done by eye as a tile spacer wouldn’t work. The result speaks for itself!

Because this property has a total width of approximately 5 metres and sits on a tight street, it was a challenge for deliveries and removing demolition debris from the site.

The new bathroom is light and open thanks to the large walk-in shower, while its soft grey and blue colour palette with gold touches create an elegant space with modern appeal.
